Public Relations Account Executive, Profiles, Inc.

Profiles, Inc., named the 2017 Best PR Agency by the readers of The Daily Record, is seeking an Account Executive. Ideal candidates are creative thinkers, strong writers and have 2-4 years of previous media relations or agency experience along with a proven track record of securing media coverage for brands big and small. The Account Executive will furnish original concepts that help clients achieve their business goals through strategic press coverage, memorable communications campaigns, and innovative events.


  • A bachelor’s degree in a communications-related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field


  • Strong writing and copyediting skills with a knowledge of AP-style and basic journalistic prose
  • Strong organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented; able to spot typos
  • Efficient and able to get work done quickly while delivering high-quality work product
  • Passionate about communications and story-telling
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Self-starter and seeks opportunities to own assignments and projects
  • Basic PR skills (clipping, reporting, list building, pitching, etc.)
  • Strong work ethic and high standards (willing to dedicate additional hours to get the best outcome for clients and expects the best from self and team)


  • Build media lists and manage databases
  • Conduct research for client and company initiatives
  • Proofread and copyedit
  • Draft and distribute press materials
  • Pitch media on behalf of clients
  • Coordinate and attend/manage media opportunities on behalf of clients
  • Secure multiple pieces of media coverage for each of your clients monthly
  • Update and maintain press clipping files with proper style and consistency
  • Analyze data and create reports while spotting trends in team results and seeking opportunities for achieving improved results, as well as sharing coverage and reports with clients
  • Assist with event production (on and off-site)
  • Assist in the conception and implementation of marketing programs and strategic partnerships
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for clients on behalf of Profiles
  • Communicate with clients in person, by email, and by phone
  • Create agendas, take notes and lead client meetings
  • Participate in Profiles’ team meetings and activities
  • Serve as a mentor to Account Coordinators, interns, and others on the Profiles team
  • Maintain familiarity with local media market (media outlets and reporters) as well as the media industry (new and closing outlets, new social media platforms, etc.); develop relationships with media; convert reporters into go-to contacts for clients under your direction
