Introduction: The Vice President’s Office of Institutional Advancement is currently Recruiting for an Assistant Vice President for Public Relations & Strategic Communications. Interested candidates should have a strong desire to support the mission of one of the Nation’s largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
Duties: This position is the Chief Public Relations Officer for the University, responsible for developing and managing all of the University’s strategic communications.
Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations or a related discipline and at least ten (10) years of experience in Public Relations.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be giving to candidates with a Master’s Degree in Public Relations or related field.
Requirements: The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience envisioning, developing and implementing a successful and comprehensive Public Relations and Communications Program across an enterprise with multiple constituencies and a wide variety of audiences. Must have at least seven years of experience managing a team of Public Relations and Communications Professionals and at least seven years of experience managing a Public Relations and Communications Budget. Prior experience in higher education either in an agency environment or as an internal communications professional is required.
