As we enter the busy winter season of holidays, it’s easy to put “renew BPRC membership” at the bottom of your “to do” list, but don’t! Renewing your membership to the Baltimore Public Relations Council is essential to your professional development and ensures your place among a network of more than 120 members in the Greater Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area who share your passion and commitment to the industry, as well as your individual careers.
For 60 years, the Baltimore Public Relations Council has been dedicated to providing members with programs on current topics affecting the industry and opportunities to network and exchange ideas. In the last year, we have offered programs on newsroom trends and best practices, including:
- Monthly programs featuring editorial leadership and staff from The Baltimore Sun, Mason Dixon Arrive, Smart CEO, Style, Maryland Public Television, WBFF-TV, Baltimore Brew, Eye on Annapolis, Baltimore Fishbowl, Maryland Reporter, as well as patch.com.
- A two-part series on planning public relations activities to ensure great media visuals, featuring Baltimore-area newspaper and magazine photographers and television video journalists sharing what they look for to produce strong images to accompany news and feature stories.
- A program hosted jointly with the Baltimore Social Media Club featuring a discussion on the role of social media in crisis communication.
Long-time members agree: the Baltimore PR Council offers programming that matters to public relations professionals.
“BPRC is doing a terrific job with programming.” Harry Bosk, APR, Principal, Bosk Communications
“Next year marks my 20th anniversary of membership – I am a proud and appreciative member of BPRC!” Theresa Wiseman, President, MediaWise, Inc.
We have also provided members with a wealth of industry-related content, including employment opportunities, our membership directory and member profiles, online at baltimoreprcouncil.org and via social media tools such as Facebook (facebook.com/baltpr) and Twitter (@baltpr).
While last year’s accomplishments were outstanding, I anticipate that the year ahead will be just as successful, and more importantly, valuable to our membership. Please renew your membership to the Baltimore Public Relations Council today to ensure you continue to receive these member benefits.
